Canon imageCLASS MF229 Toner Cartridges FAQs
Does using compatible toner void warranty?
Using compatible, replacement or remanufactured cartridges will never void the printer's warranty. It is strictly ILLEGAL for them to void your warranty for using these types of cartridges. This is as per MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY IMPROVEMENT ACT, United States Code Annotated Title 15 Commerce Trade Chapter 50, Consumer Product Warranties 15 Sections 2302.
Are toner cartridges cheaper than ink cartridges?
In terms of cost-per-page laser toner cartridges are cheaper compared to regular inkjet cartridges. This is because toner cartridges are designed for office or business use which requires a large amount of printing on a daily basis while inkjet cartridges are mainly for small office or home use. A toner cartridge can print up to 1,000 to 45,000 pages depending on their yield, while regular inkjet cartridges can only print from 100 to 1000 pages. So with that being said, a toner cartridge can be way cheaper compared to regular ink in the long run.
Can I throw away empty toner cartridges?
About 1.3 billion cartridges are used every year. That is why it is highly preferred that toner and ink cartridges are recycled than letting them end up in landfills. You can bring your empty toner to local or big retailers or even to your local recycling facility. You can also check some websites online like earth911.com to look for recycling options for your cartridges.
