Canon iX4000 Ink Replacement Guide
- Make sure the printer is on.
- Open the top cover.
- Remove the ink tank whose light is either off or flashing rapidly by pushing the tab.
- Get your new CompAndSave Canon PIXMA iX4000 ink cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color along with the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- The new Canon Pixma iX4000 cartridges should be installed and pressed into the ink tank until it snaps into position. Make that the red light on the ink tank bulb is on.
- Close the cartridge door. The cartridge cartridge will now move to the printer’s right side.

The package's arrival, upon opening, gave the sense of a rush order. There was an irregularly folded packing slip stuffed into the shipping envelope. Three of the inks came in neat little boxes while two were not in boxes, but were plastic wrapped. It seemed an odd way to fulfill an order. I only needed one of the inks right away to get the printer happy again and the printer recognized it and was happy. So far I've only had to print one color document and if the printer used that ink then I guess all is well. One more ink is about to run out, so I'll be able to test that soon. For the price, compared to Canon's, if all the inks continue to work then I'll be satisfied. But I would like to know why some inks arrive in boxes and some not.
